The Dusty Reds Show

With all of the fan-generated controversy over the Reds new manager, I wanted to add this little bit. I, for one, am incredibly happy over this decision. Dusty Baker is a baseball man. He loves the game and understands it. He played it and played it well. He has managed the game with success, with players from the Griffeys and Dunns to the Edwins. And if there are any two pitchers in the majors who can handle the dreaded heavy workload, its Arroyo and Harang. Most importantly, I trust Dusty Baker to make the tough personnel decisions. To give Joey Votto and Jay Bruce everyday roles; to give Johnny Cueto a shot in Spring Training; to let players like Jeff Keppinger and Jorge Cantu play their way into the lineup if they earn it. In short, to make those decisions about which we fans think we know better and to make them better than we could.

Kudos to the Reds' management for making a great baseball decision.
